We offer water-soluble CBD products, a form of CBD shown to produce faster-acting and more potent effects because it is more easily and efficiently absorbed by the body. The benefits of water soluble CBD derive from its increased bioavailability, which is the concentration of an active ingredient that takes effect after entering into one’s bloodstream. We create water-soluble CBD through our proprietary nanoemulsion process, which involves shrinking the size of our CBD particles so that they are small enough to absorb directly through the mucous membranes in the mouth and esophagus, while placing them in an emulsifier that allows the body to absorb CBD more quickly and efficiently.
What is Water Soluble CBD? Breaking Down Nanoemulsion.
We create our water soluble CBD through a process called nanoemulsion, which involves two components.
First, we shrink the size of our CBD particles. This is crucial, since smaller CBD particles–called “nanoparticles” and measured in nanometers (one billionth of an inch)–are easier for the body to absorb more quickly and efficiently than CBD particles that have not been reduced in size. Typical CBD molecules are too large to pass through the mucous membranes in the mouth and esophagus that our nanoparticles rapidly penetrate, and as a result, they must take an extended route into the bloodstream, passing through the digestive system and liver, where the majority of the initial dosage consumed is degraded by stomach acids. This results in diminished effects, as is often the case with CBD oil.
CBD nanoparticles, on the other hand, bypass this route to absorb directly into mucous membranes in the mouth and throat, entering the bloodstream almost immediately after ingestion. By taking this shortcut into our system, nanoparticles ensure that little to none of the initial dosage consumed is lost along the way, while accelerating the process of absorption–this is why water soluble products have faster-acting, more potent effects than CBD oils and other product formats.
Bioavailability & Absorption
But why does absorption matter when it comes to CBD products? Enhanced absorption leads to a higher bioavailability, which refers to the amount of an ingested substance that actually makes it into the bloodstream to produce effects. Absorption is key to the effectiveness of your CBD product, since it determines the potency, onset time, and efficacy of results.
CBD Oil vs. Water Soluble CBD
As aforementioned, CBD is hydrophobic, and won’t dissolve in water. This is the issue with CBD oil, which takes another hydrophobic carrier–oil–and makes absorption extremely difficult, if not near-impossible. When carried in oil, CBD acts like oil in water when it reaches the bloodstream, condensing into clumps and rising to the surface rather than dissolving throughout. Oil and water don’t mix, and since the bloodstream is largely comprised of water, CBD oils are difficult for the body to absorb. This means that the effects and potency of the consumed CBD are greatly diminished, take far longer to kick in, and have far lower bioavailability.
Water soluble CBD, on the other hand, is created to dissolve in the bloodstream almost immediately upon contact because of our proprietary emulsion, which takes advantage of CBD’s lipophilic (fat-loving”) properties to facilitate easy and quick absorption into the bloodstream. For this reason, water soluble CBD has an exponentially higher bioavailability than CBD oil, and because it is absorbed more easily, you can count on receiving the benefits of the dose you actually consume more quickly and effectively.
Ease of Use and Versatility
Water soluble CBD is also easier and more versatile when it comes to consuming CBD, since our products absorb into beverages and can also be used in cooking. Simply drop your desired amount of water soluble CBD into your favorite beverage for discreet dosing on the go and enjoyable consumption, or infuse our water soluble CBD into your favorite recipe for a snack or meal that’s delicious and full of benefits.
Topicals
We also offer nano-enhanced CBD topicals, which take advantage of our tiny nanoparticle size to penetrate the skin’s tough, outermost layers and target the underlying causes of pain, discomfort, stiffness, and soreness in the muscles beneath. Most CBD topicals contain regular-sized CBD molecules, which are too large to penetrate the skin barrier, and simply sit on the top of the skin instead of dissolving to target the source of discomfort.
